As many of you know my wife had surgery for a double-hernia back in March. Earlier this week she began to experience more pain and discomfort which almost resulted in another trip to the ER. She is back out on leave from and unfortunately still is not able to physically take care of our 8-month old son on her own just yet. That being said, the next episode of Retro Dance Party is on hold for a little while.
I'm not finished just yet. I want to continue with the show. My wife wants me to do the show. We're hoping she gets better soon. She has a CT scan scheduled for this morning. She's hoping that they either don't find anything wrong or that they do find anything wrong. Her surgeon stated it is somewhat abnormal to still be experiencing extreme pain 2 months post-surgery.
I'll keep you posted with what happens. Thank you all for your support!
What's on tap for the upcoming Friday Night Flight? May 11th, I return to the airwaves after skipping a show for a road trip to California. After basking in the Warm (not hot) sunny weather of Cali, I'll be back in the cool soggy Northwest weather and ready to rock.
So Tune in on May 11th at 10 PM Eastern / 7PM Pacific on Renegade Retro
A listener grabs copies of My show podcasts. He informed me that last night's podcast was particularly poor audio quality. then went on to ask me why the podcasts are all lower quality then the Original Live shows. I decided to answer here as well. The answer is simple. Midas and myself are the only Live show DJs who podcast our shows (Actually, we are the only LIVE DJ's at the moment...but that's kinda off topic). In order to keep the filesize to an acceptable level for Mediafire (The host we both use), we have to cut the bitrate significantly (generally 112 bps). At this bitrate, the sound quality goes from CD Level to FM Radio Level. But it also brings the filesize down as well.
Initially I opted to do both Live broadcast in the same MP3PRO 64 Kbps bitrate I do the live show on, however, many portable MP3 players or Cell Phones are not capable of deciphering MP3PRO, so in order to provide a podcast that virtually any mp3 Player can play, that is what we do.
Also...if you want to hear the show in better quality, there is only one thing you can do, tune in live for the show.
