Apparently his T-shirt had Arabic script on it that basically said "We will not be silent". I don't think he did anything wrong, but I guess I'm more mellow than most. Although I can understand the other passengers' feelings and the airline's concern especially after 9/11...maybe it would have been better to request rather than demand that he cover the T-shirt, and have him voluntarily moved instead of forcibly?
Gotta walk on eggshells these days it seems.

When it comes to flying the friendly skies nowadays, absolutely. Which is why I wonder if the shirt was an issue, why didn't someone catch it before going through the security gates? I agree that he didn't do anything wrong. If you or I had that inscribed on our shirts in English on a flight I would almost bet there would likely be no consequences.
Re: Man awarded $240K for being forced to cover T-shirt
This tells me I probably shouldn't wear my "I'm proud to be an undercover CIA agent" pin on flights like I used to. Hell, they'd probably call it a deadly weapon these days.
Re: Man awarded $240K for being forced to cover T-shirt
Oh for fuck's sake, people need to loosen up about this Arabic/Muslim bullshit. I'm glad the guy got the money and I'll be doing a dance of glee if those nine family members decide to sue that other airline for being complete fuckwads.
On a completely different note, I've been tempted to buy this shirt and wear it in public. Do you think I'll get a ton of backlash for it?
Re: Man awarded $240K for being forced to cover T-shirt
She would, too

That's lame he had to cover it up. I guess he received his compensation....but isn't that shirt just as bad as a redneck wearing a "rebel pride" shirt with the rebel flag on it?
