Your proudest karaoke moment?

Relatively self-explanatory...drunkenness not required to play

Did you get a standing ovation? Did you fall over and kill the teleprompter? Did you strangle a heckler with your microphone wire?

I'll post later. Hehehe.

I don't do Karaoke. I don't sing. And I don't go where Karaoke occurs.

Doing 'I don't like Mondays' and getting an ovation - plus loadsa free drinks (which let's face it, is way more important).

I've heard your proudest karaoke moment.

Mine hasn't happened yet. In my mind I could pull of Spandau Ballet's "True" and I think it would be cool to do a duet with some chick to Berlin's "Sex (I'm A...)"

Re: Your proudest karaoke moment?

I don't go that often, and I always think I'm gonna sing something, but I never seem to work up the nerve, even though I know, what is the worst thing that is gonna happen? I get booed? Even then, most people are respectful enough not to make a big issue out of bad singers. But I have this silly fantasy that I'm gonna karaoke somewhere and realize my true talent is in singing and start my own band and live the rock star life. God I'm a dork.

Re: Your proudest karaoke moment?

Saw this in the news tonight...this woman LOVES karaoke (apparently)

S.Korean woman sings 60 hours for love and hope

SEOUL (Reuters) - A South Korean woman belted out nearly 1,000 songs at a karaoke bar in just under 60 hours to claim a world record before dropping to the floor on Valentine's Day.

Kim Seok-ok, 52, said she performed her feat to cheer up her ailing husband and bring hope to others living with sick family members.

Kim picked up the microphone at a karaoke bar on Monday and -- except for a five-minute break every hour -- did not stop for 59 hours and 48 minutes, 36 minutes beyond the previous record held by a German.

"Life may be painful, but face the challenge," Kim said later. "I want people to live with hope like me."

"I wanted to send the message, for those who are living with patients in the family, that if you live cheerfully without being discouraged, it will give them immense strength."

Kim accomplished the feat standing up despite rules that allowed her to sit and sing, saying it would not be the mark of a true singer.

Her 45-year-old husband is fighting a brain tumour.

Re: Your proudest karaoke moment?

Anyway...I sang "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" on that Karaoke Revolution game on PS2 when we visited our friends in Champaign. I did Cyndi Lauper proud and got a "platinum record" for it

Then at the grad student welcome dinner I sang "Don't Stop Believing" and got a standing ovation and later they wanted me to sing again but I had to go home. I did win Bulls tickets though

Re: Your proudest karaoke moment?

Almost have myself psyched up enough to sing "Silver Springs" by Fleetwood Mac. I think I can handle Stevie Nicks' vocals on that song pretty well. I was singing it tonight when it came on the radio and I don't think I sounded *too* awful.

Re: Your proudest karaoke moment?

Back in Lincoln, NE (where I'm originally from) there's a bar where, every Thursday night they'd have a live band that you could sing with, and they had a list of songs they'd do (along with these cue cards with the lyrics written down). One night I got up on stage with them and sang "Surrender" by Cheap Trick.
I've sang karaoke at other bars (badly, I might add) and it's just not the same as doing it onstage with a live band, I seem to get into it more and do a whole lot better.
