This is closing in my town our downtown is not as busy as it used to be there is a big campaign to bring back business to the area. we lost a major shopping center there and the moving of our childrens museum of science and industry is also being blamed for Wendy's lack of sales there. seems like more and more are moving out of the area instead of into the area!

I love Wendy's. I think they have the second best burgers around (Burger King edges them out, flame broiling rules) among the big 3. That said, if they don't get their heads out of their asses and start thinking about customer service a little, like Dave Thomas used to, they deserve to go down, and I'll cheer the fall all the way.

We have a Wendy's in town. We loved it. Then they started letting people pick what sides they wanted. That was great, we all thought. But get this:
My choice if meal is a Triple with cheese combo. I opt to get the chili with it instead of fries. A decent deal, you'd think. And it is. But Wendy's lets you upsize to large on a combo for .60 cents. They DON'T upsize the chili. Only the drink. That's the way you get it, end of story. HOWEVER, you are now spending more on the combo than if you bought a triple with cheese, a large coke and small chili all separately.

Now, explain it to me why this is? A large chili costs less than a large fries. So they save money by giving me a large chili in the combo than making them give me a large fries and ditch the chili, which is what I did.

I went over this and over this with the MANAGER who basically told me that's the way it is, take it or leave it, even when pointed out to him that it costs MORE to upsize than if the items were bought individually! He didn't care that if I switched back to fries and trhen rec'd large, they'd be losing money rather than give me a large chili!

I complained about it to Wendy's corporate. Even checked the box on the complaint for that YES I wanted them to call me. They never did. Nothing has changed there, either. Wendy's does not care about their customers anymore. Look around online for complaints about Wendy's, it's scary how bad they've gotten.

We have not been in a Wendy's since that night. I'll take McD's bland food before I'll help fund that company now.

That's the problem sometimes, people in food service (especially fast food) don't care what you think of them because they know someone will always be there to buy their cheap food. Which is part of the reason why America has an obesity epidemic, especially among poor people.

But I digress...

We go to White Castle now, but only sparingly because they load those Sliders with soooooo much fat.

When Thomas had full control of Wendy's it was THE fast food place to go to! But now it's taken over by a corporate conglamorate which runs it in the way Dave Never intended! I think he's rolling over in his grave.

Wendy's commercials suck ass now without Dave. You know the guy cared about his menu and his restaurant because he actually had the balls to do the commercials himself and stand by his product. Even the Jack in the Box guy won't take his Jack ball off

Exactly!! Ray Croc used Ronald McDonald, James W. McLamore, used the Creepy Burger King (Well Pillsbury actually since McLamore sold Burger King to Pillsbury in 1967), and Robert O. Peterson Started the Whole Jack In The Box thing, BUT Ralston Purina bought it in 1968 and started the whole Fake Founder crap!
Now, go to Dave Thomas...While he was running the show at Wendy's....HE was the "Spokesperson". Not some Clown, Fictional King, or Antenna Ball on a human torso. Thomas Dies, the chain is under full control of Wendy's International....Which is founded by.....guess who.....Dave Thomas! So of the whole bunch, Only Wendy's has remained part of a Corporation founded by the same person who founded the Restaurant chain!

Just as an uninteresting sidenote that doesn't really have anything to do with the Wendy's closing...

Dave Thomas's wife, Lorraine, graduated from the same high school I did, in the 50s. Never met her or Dave though.

OK, dumb trivia fact for the day done.

I love Wendy's, but the one closest to me, the night crew just do not give a damn. It's usually cold or burnt and the fries are always cold and greasy.
We don't go there that often anymore.

I can't wait till they get a Carl's Jr. In Washington State. LOVE that place! We may have to move back to California or to Oregon just to get it!!!! LMAO!
