We are hosting a department Turkey Fry at our place on the 17th and then on Thanksgiving Day we are staying in Chicago and having a couple friends and their dogs over for food and festivities. Yay!

We're probably going to the Sister-in-law's house for the festivities. Then watching TV in a turkey coma. Cryspy doesn't have the day after off, so no shopping for us most likely. Not that we have money for that anyway.

Going over to my sister and brother-in-law's place, where they will have two turkeys: one fried and one smoked. We did the fried last year; it was excellent. Had a trial run on the smoked turkey this past Sunday; also awesome. My brother & his girlfriend will be in town from San Diego for the weekend and we're all going out Friday night for tasty beverages at a pub within crawling distance.
The only thing awesome I can make is an alfredo sauce. Absolutely delicious. But I don't think anyone will want that on Thanksgiving.
Hah. i've been contemplating so much on making the Zuppa Toscana soup from Olive Garden since I'm pretty awesome at making that...but I thought sausage+potato soup on Thanksgiving? FTW!
I'm doing the same thing we do every year - go to my cousin's house with all of my mom's dysfunctional relatives. Everyone will bring too much food and my aunt will bring about 37 kinds of dessert even though we never eat it all. My younger cousins will do something stupid like the year they flipped the 4-wheelers into the big pond out back. My older cousins will watch the Lions game (half will fall asleep, but claim they're watching) and then some of us will probably play cards or board games, during which my cousin Glenn will act as if the fate of all mankind depends on whether or not he wins. Oh, and a couple of my cousins will retreat to the garage to partake in some wacky tobbaccy.

Mom wants us to come in for Thanksgiving. We haven't been back for a visit since beginning of August. I probably will unless I can think of a good excuse not to. I just haven't felt well enough to drive all that way. It's a good 4 hour drive or even longer if I'm not feeling well or traffic is bad. Just haven't been feeling very social lately.
