Re: Next time you go to the DMV...

A few years ago I went to renew my driver's license. I had changed purses and accidentally forgot the old license at home and had no photo ID on me. They took my picture and renewed my license anyway, even though I had no proof I was who I said I was.

More conveniently, you don't have to renew your license for the next 30 years. That'll save you some time.

DMV people are assholes everywhere. I've only been to one where the people were nice and actually helped you.

Yeah, they give you a driver's license that doesn't expire until you turn 65. My sister won't have to go back for a DL renewal until 2051. Plus you can renew your tags online now; the only place you really need to visit is the emissions testing place every year or two years, depending on how old your vehicle is.

Lucky. Mine expires in 2012, but there is no guarantee that I'll be living here when that rolls around.

California has it worse. Unless they changed it, you have to renew every four years.
