Where I live has a "River Festival" every year. This is based on the fact the the Brisbane River meanders back and forth throughout the city.
One of the highlights apart from the fireworks is the dump and burn by a pair of RAAF F-111's. They come screaming down adjacent stretches of the river and ignite excess fuel that is released from between the exhausts.
Whilst this obviously is a dressed up professional time lapse photo, nonetheless, it gives yo ua fair idea. It is very spectacular,
