Yes. It?s true.
Some of you know me well. Some of you don?t know me at all. Some of you know OF me at best. Some of you know me but don?t want to know me. It?s all good.
For those of you that fall in the first category, hi. Nice to see you again.
For those of you that fall into the second category, hi. Nice to meet you. I?m Rob. I figure there?s no point in making a secret about my name because everyone from the first category knows it already. I run the other station in this radio network that you may or may not be aware of. It?s called City Of Glass Radio (which you?ll commonly see me abbreviate to CGR?or COGR if TV9 does it because he loves that ?of? so much). My station plays what has been deemed ?alternative? music from the last 40 years, give or take a few years. I also do a live show once a month called ?Party At Ground Zero? that goes outside my usual format just for the fun of it. I?ve been on the air nearly six years. You can find my little station?s home on the Web at
http://www.cityofglassradio.com if you want to take a peek. There?s at least a picture of me there you can mock. Except my hair. I am now officially the King of DJ Hair on this forum.
For those of you in the third category, it?s all lies unless you heard something good. That part?s unquestionably true.
For those of you in the fourth category, I?m sure this is the last thing you ever wanted to see. But like those great poets, Run and DMC, once said ? ?It?s like that and that?s the way it is.? Now, if I already know you fall into this category, you should know my plan is to basically ignore you. It?s not the best etiquette, to be sure, but it?s the most peaceful one. It?s peaceful for me, for you, and for everyone on the board that just doesn?t want to read it. Aside from that, ?don?t lean on me, man, ?cause you can?t afford the ticket?. I got my Bowie reference in and I?m moving on to the next paragraph.
Having said all that, I?ll say this for those of you new to my particular idiom ? don?t take anything too seriously from me. If you could outwit Gump, you should be able to catch on very quickly and know when I?m being serious or being (or at least TRYING to be) humourously smarmy. I assure you that you?ll know when I?m legitimately annoyed because I can achieve a snit that makes one of TV9?s on-air rants sound like Edward Murrow doing the news. Oh, and know that anyone listening to my show is fair game for ridicule. Including me.
There you have it. I?m here. And there?s not a daaaaaaaaaaaamn thing you can do about it.
Pump up the volume.
