I'll be providing a review of this one tomorrow night as the family's plan this week is to catch its debut. Anyone else looking forward to it? I really like Nicolas Cage's work, and the previews do look damn good.

It has the potential to not suck as hard as Daredevil did because most of the time, Nicholas Cage can act. Although he can't ever be Superman.

I have no doubt that he could have acted well, but he just doesn't LOOK like Superman, y'know?

Neither does the guy who plays Clark in Smallville, but he gets the job done.
I guess if you can act, it'll work, but I haven't watched Smallville since the first season...
The Smallville guy kinda looks like the guy who played Scarecrow in Batman Begins.

Anyway, I must say the movie rocked. Very entertaining. Good action, nice story, and good effects. I'll give it two thumbs up. Cryspy enjoyed it a lot as well.

No Disrespect to Christopher Reeves, But although he looked like Superman, his acting wasn't top-notch IMHO. Still, he was the OBVIOUS choice since his dad played Superman in the 50s TV Show.

George Reeves was not related to Christopher Reeve as far as I can tell...

I'm fairly certain that the 50s/60s Superman was George Reeves and the movie Superman was Christopher Reeve. The new guy in Superman Returns did a good job but the story sucked.

I thought the new guy playing Superman was superb, and his resemblance to Christopher Reeve, especially in profile, was uncanny. However, I enjoyed the story. I thought it was a great return for Superman, and loved how Superman 3 and 4 never occurred. The story may have been long, but all the characters were very well-played, the story was true to form with Lex's motivation from the previous movies, his animosity towards Superman was very nicely done.
That said, why wait for the Ghostrider DVD? Catch a cheap matinee!

I was thinking more about what I didn't like about Superman Returns...
I do agree that the new Superman was superb. He had the mannerisms and the look.
I did not like the Lois Lane character.
The only cool scenes were when Superman saved the plane and the space shuttle and stopped the bullet with his eyeball.
The whole "OMG Superman is DYING" thing at the end kinda pissed me off because I thought they could have ended the movie on a less sappy note...not to mention that Superman never got a chance to get back at Lex Luthor by cauterizing his asshole shut with heat vision
I do hope for a sequel though, now that they got all the crap out of the way
Batman is still > Superman.
But Ghost Rider is cool too...I'll watch it later when we get Netflix after we move.
