Iron Man
Iron Man was really cool. He blew lots of shit up and the armor was badass. I can't wait to see Iron Man 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Re: Iron Man
Dark Knight FTW!
I think I may have to buy Iron Man on DVD when it comes out.

Re: Iron Man
Hubby and his friend are going to go see Iron Man tonight. I am staying home to listen to Party at Ground Zero. I do not want smited or tempt the wrath of the powers that be for missing a show intentionally.
Perhaps I will see Iron Man when it comes to the cheap theater.

Re: Iron Man
It only took me about two months but I FINALLY saw "Iron Man". It has to easily be one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen. It was wonderful to see something actually resembling DEPTH and a real PLOT in a superhero movie instead of just leaning on all the CGI they could cram in there.
It didn't really hurt to have several Oscar winners/nominees in there either. Downey and Bridges just continue to prove that they have talent and charisma to spare. This is the most engaging role I've ever seen Gwyneth Paltrow in since "Emma" and the prettiest she's looked since...um...EVER. And while I felt they didn't give Terence Howard nearly enough to do, I'm hoping (and, knowing something about the history of Iron Man, expecting) that gets rectified in the sequel. (As a side note, if you've not watched Terence Howard in "Hustle & Flow", DO. He gives one of the most incredible performances ever put onto celluloid.)
And man oh man, am I glad I stayed all the way to the end of the credits. I was semi-erect by the time I left the cinema as any good comic geek would be.
Is it October 1 yet? I want the DVD.

Re: Iron Man
Terence Howard gets to be War Machine in the sequel methinks. It's set up in the movie pretty well. If rumors are true, the villain in Iron Man 2 will most likely be the Mandarin, and I have no idea how they'd be able to portray that without it getting silly.

Well, there's another direction they could possibly take with Rhodes but I don't quite know how they'd do that now considering how certain events played out in this movie. Sorry that's vague but I don't want to give too much away for anyone that hasn't seen it and still wants to do so.
There was indeed a hint of the Mandarin being a factor in this movie. And yes, they would very likely have to come up with a contemporary origin for him if they use him because anything else would look pretty cheeseball. Still, as well as this movie got handled, they could very well manage to pull it off. I suppose he could be more of a technological villain instead of delving into the goofy mysticism/sci-fi aspects of his character.
