I never watched it at all. I may do so just to form an opinion on it - I like being pleasantly surprised.

I probably would have appreciated it more if I hadn't had my grandmother along. She was bored out of her skull. But she pretty much hated anything that wasn't a musical.
Ha ha! Bring on the dancing runners.

I suppose some might find it rather dry. But hey...I loved "Quiz Show
I haven't seen 'Quiz show' either. Talk about dry, if you haven't seen it, watch David Lynch's 'The Elephant Man'. Probably the best (if not the only) black and white film to come out of the 80s.

No way! Everyone knows the best black and white film of the 80's was "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid"!

Ha ha! I forgot about that film. That's the one were Steve Martin performs alongside a montage of old films. If you haven't seen 'The Elephant Man' watch it. It's not a film you want to watch too many times but it is a masterpiece.

I've always been curious to see it. I like John Hurt and I think it's interesting that Mel Brooks executive produced it. And that Hopkins guy isn't half-bad, I guess.

Mel Brooks!?! I didn't think it would be his kind of film, lol. Hopkins does alright as the doctor. John Hurt is good in it but IMO the make-up steals the show, lol.

It does, actually. I know that without having seen it. There was a huge fuss when the movie was out because it didn't pick up a special Oscar for makeup. It was a huge reason why makeup awards are now given at the Oscars.

Now as soon as they introduce "Best Fargin' Explosion" and "Breast Actress", I'll be good.

Lol. I'm with you there.

I saw a picture of the real John Merrick - I couldn't tell them apart the make-up was that good.

Interestingly enough, that's because the makeup people used a mold that had been made from the real John Merrick's face.

IMDB rocks.

Well, I finally watched Caddyshack all the way through. That wasn't as good as I had hoped, but still fun to see Carl go after that darned gopher. Also had an inordinate amount of naked people in it, which I thought was gratuitous, but oh well.

Ah Caddyshack! The best joke in the whole film is the chocolate in the swimming pool and everybody thinks it's a turd, lol.

Rodney Dangerfield is basically doing his rapid-fire, wise-cracking act on a golf course (but nowhere near as good as his stand-up material).
