80's Movies You Haven't Seen?

I haven't seen "Chariots Of Fire" or "Taps". I hear "Taps" is kind of boring though. "Endless Love" is another flick I haven't seen

Re: 80's Movies You Haven't Seen?

I've never seen "Endless Love" either and don't really want to. You should see "Chariots Of Fire" though. I dug it.

I've never seen "Out Of Africa" or "The Last Emperor" although I know I should. I've also never bothered to watch "Gremlins" either. It just never appealed to me.

And I've never seen "An Officer And A Gentleman" all the way through...just pieces here and there. I GOT NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!

Yeah but don't I have to see Debra Winger nekkid? AND Gere? These are not two people I ever cared about seeing nekkid.

Same here. I have never been a big war fan so I haven't watched 'Good morning Vietnam','Apocylpse Now' and 'Full Metal Jacket' . . .

Though I did watch Biloxi Blues and enjoy it - not what I would class as a war film as such, more a coming of age drama.

Actually, I'm not a big war film guy either but I think you'd enjoy "Good Morning Vietnam" anyway.

I liked "Full Metal Jacket" for about the first 45 minutes. After that, it just seemed to sag for me.

I thought of another one I haven't seen. I have never ever EVER watched "Flashdance". I just don't care if she makes it or not. And I'm so bloody tired of that Irene Cara song that I may snap and kill one day because of it.

Never saw "Flashdance" either. Never felt the need to. Nor the need to see "An Officer and a Gentleman"

Absolutely LOVE "Good Morning Veitnam" though.

That's what a lot of people agree on. The boot camp part is truly kickass (and pretty damned true, according to my ex-Marine dad), but the whole Vietnam part was just like filler.

Exactly it. Once D'Onofrio and Ermey weren't there to chew through the scenery anymore, most of the tension and magic drained out of it for me.

Okay, I'll take a gander at it.

Lol. I tried to watch Flashdance about 10 years ago. I had to stop the video as I felt the life drain from my body. As for the soundtrack, I think it's one of the best 80s soundtracks ever . . . however, I can see how it would make someone snap and kill though.

Really? All I know about it is the slow motion race sequence and I haven't mustered the enthusiasm to watch it.

I saw "Chariots Of Fire" when I was only 12 years old. Even then, I loved everything I was seeing. I probably would have appreciated it more if I hadn't had my grandmother along. She was bored out of her skull. But she pretty much hated anything that wasn't a musical.

I suppose some might find it rather dry. But hey...I loved "Quiz Show".
