War Of The Worlds

OK...as much as I CANNOT stand Tom Cruise right now...this movie was fucking AWESOME.

I watched it on Christmas Eve, after the inlaws went to their hotel, and it scared the everloving crap out of me. I cheered when that little twerp Dakota got snatched...shame she wasnt liquified though.

The kids got Madagascar from their uncle the next morning, and they were watching it as I was cooking on Christmas Day, and when the ship blew its horn I tripped out a bit. The noise from WOTW was still front in my mind.

I want to watch it, but I'm sort of avoiding movies with that asshole in it.

And no, I'm not talking about Dakota Fanning, although she's an annoying little shit as well.

Re: War Of The Worlds

The movie was a lot of fun. However, Fanning's incessant screeching (which seeks out the spine and causes suicidal thoughts) became nearly intolerable within five seconds.

Still, I'd recommend it to anyone. It was a blast.

I saw it Christmas Day and I still can't decide if it was worth waiting for ...

While I enjoyed it (save her screaming), I would've loved a different ending. It would've been awesome for one of the alien ships to suddenly land on the house and kill all of them anyway.

C'mon, who DOESN'T want to see Tom Cruise suffer these days?

I don't care enough about him to want to see him suffer. Honestly, I don't care if the guy wants to take out a billboard showing him popping Katie Holmes in the browneye. As long as he makes movies I enjoy watching, it's all cool by me. Now, if he makes movies like "Mission: Impossible 2", then he needs an ass beating.

I just saw it a couple of nights ago and loved it! I don't care what anyone says, Tom Cruise is one of the best actor's out there. As much as I love Dakota Fanning, she irritated the shit out of me in this movie. She and Cruise had great chemistry, but her character was beyond annoying. I want even talk about the ending.

Great chemistry? You must have seen some director's cut or something because I didn't see any real chemistry between them at ALL. Moreso, I don't want to see ANY kind of chemistry between Tom Cruise and some prepubescent screaming brat.

I think Dakota Fanning is an awful "actress". She has two modes - snotty and screaming. And sometimes both at once. Go back and watch Kirsten Dunst's performance in "Interview With The Vampire" (which I still believe should have netted her a Best Supporting Actress nomination) and tell me Dakota Fanning's a good actress.

Hahahahahaha! Rep to Jess.

I have to agree with NewRo. Dunst was SO cheated as Claudia. She gave me chills to see her play that role...still does...

Fanning? I could see better acting from a popsicle stick.

Yeah, even a ten year old would have sense enough to cover her herpes sores.

I thought Dakota Fanning was decent in "I Am Sam"...that movie was enjoyable even though the plot was contrived. Kirsten Dunst's character in the vampire movie was excellent, far better than I expected.
