I have to wonder if this means they'll be cancelling the show or not. I also wonder if they'll take it to the next level and go for a PG-13 by unleashing more of Groening's "Life In Hell" type of humour.
They have extended the show's contract to at least 2008. Time will tell if that will become the last season.
South Park had a movie like 7 years ago and it's still going, so maybe the same will be true for the Simpsons.
