I wasn't much into concerts at the time...still not a big deal to me but fun to go to every once in a while. I only recall two shows I saw back in the 80's, both in 1989:
Once again, I'm not separating it out by year. Here goes:
- INXS
- The Human League (My very first concert ever on my 18th birthday.)
- The Mission UK
- The Psychedelic Furs
- The Escape Club
- Public Image Ltd.
- Simply Red
- Danny Wilson
- The Fixx
- Deon Estus (who opened for...)
- George Michael
You know my fave out of those? The George Michael show. I mean, yeah, it was a good show and all but the audience was 95% HOT GIRLS. I was 19. Life was SO DAMN GOOD.
OK, HERE we go. Not by year, either:
Def Leppard
Poison
Whitesnake
Bon Jovi
White Lion
Tesla
Great White
Corey Hart
Rick Springfield
George Michael
Night Ranger
Starship
Tiffany
New Kids on the Block
ZZ Top
Stryper
AC DC
God, I know there are others. I shall return.

Queen

Mick Jagger
Deep Purple
Stevie Ray Vaughan
I could think of a lot of people that would give teeth to have had this experience. I feel the same way now when I look back on that INXS show I saw. I'm very grateful I had the chance to see what kind of a showman Michael Hutchence really was. This THING that's masquerading as INXS now could play a show in my backyard and I wouldn't bother going.
Out of curiosity, moo, do you remember what year you saw SRV? I know he has that Bowie connection so I was wondering if it was all in the same show.

I'm sorry I never got myself along to an INXS concert now
My husband (to be) took me to see Stevie when we first started going out, Rob, so it must've been around the end of '84....or early '85. He played in one of the concert halls at the Opera House of all places, so you can imagine, the acoustics were just superb and what a showman ! I remember being transfixed
A great talent. A sad loss
I saw Bowie in 1983 in a separate concert. I often forget that I saw him, it was that good
I've also been lucky enough to have seen a few 'one off' performaces throughout the 80's and 90's as well

Bowie in '83. That would have been the Serious Moonlight Tour, I believe, when he moved to EMI (well, in the U.S. anyway) and they tried to turn him into a teen idol. I can see why it may not have been that enjoyable. "Let's Dance" has never been one of my favourite Bowie albums anyhow.
