Concerts in the 90's

I went to a few more concerts in the 90's than I did in the 80's. Among them:

1991: INXS (Soup Dragons opened)
1991: KUKQ fest - Material Issue, School Of Fish, Front 242, Stan Ridgeway...

1994: Rolling Stones
1995: Ramones
1999: Billy Joel (2 times)
Elton John
Bare Naked Ladies (I think this was 1999...)

How about you?

Re: Concerts in the 90's

I'm not even going to try to break this up year by year. I'll just list everyone I can remember from the decade in question.

- Depeche Mode (Twice)
- Elton John
- Billy Joel
- Alanis Morissette (Twice. *sigh*)
- Tori Amos
- The B-52's (Who were AWFUL. Cindy Wilson was so off-key that she HAD to be drunk)
- The Pretenders
- Sheryl Crow
- George Michael
- Duran Duran (Twice)
- Terence Trent D'Arby
- Tears For Fears
- Debbie Harry
- Matthew Sweet
- Neil Finn
- The Bryan Setzer Orchestra (who, by the way, RAWK live)
- Violent Femmes
- Information Society

That's all I can remember offhand. If one pops into my mind later, I'll be sure to let you know since I know it's a big deal to everyone. :P

Oh, am I ever ashamed. I forgot to mention I saw Peter Gabriel on the Secret World Tour. I don't know HOW I forgot that because it has to be the most beautiful show I've ever seen.

Re: Concerts in the 90's

I went to 2 concerts (the only two I have ever been to )

Phil Collins (which was surprisingly better than I would have thought)

and

Sting - which was excellent

I saw Phil in the 90's as well. And I was also pleasantly surprised.

Puss.

Fuss admitted to Phil Collins. You could tell it wasn't easy for him since Phil fell from grace ages ago.

I admitted to Tori Amos. That's not easy for a straight man to admit, you know.

And shit...if you can admit to utter garbage like Avril Lavigne...

Yeah, and I admitted Melissa Etheridge. I was the only straight male at the concert!

Re: Concerts in the 90's

Just the one this decade, Paul McCartney. An excellent concert

I did go to a couple of 70's (spent all our earnings and now we're cashing in on the 70's revival) concerts - Village People, KC and the Sunshine Band etc....

Re: Concerts in the 90's

AC/DC with Kings X (Kings X sucked muchly, thankyouverymuch) This was the concert that some kids in general admission got killed. It took 10 years for AC/DC to come back after that one because of the way they were treated. I side with the band in that case. They stopped the show 4 songs into the concert, for a few minutes, to get the kids out of a massive pile in the middle of the arena. Angus hadn't even stripped yet. The cops and local bigwigs were trying to say it was more than half way through the show to put the blame on the band. Heck, the band didn't even know anyone died until after the show. It was still a kick ass show.

Great White/some band I can't remember/and a really bad Russian band trying to be AC/DC. I was 7 months pregnant and got punched in the stomach. People can be so rude.

Other than these two a bunch of country concerts. Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Collin Raye a bunch of times, George Strait, Sawyer Brown twice, etc.

Hey, you're lucky you didn't catch on fire with Great White playing.

Well, it wasn't a bar and the exits were pretty big so my main danger would have been being trampled.
