Your WORST 5 Songs of 2005
You've listed the best, now list the rest. What were the WORST 5 singles for you in 2005? Here are mine in no particular order (since I think they all sucked anyhow):
1. "Hollaback Girl" - Gwen Stefani
Catchy rhythm line or not, this song is just stupid as it gets. The insipid lyrics made me hate my job this year SO much. This shit drove me bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
2. "My Boo" - Usher & Alicia Keys
First of all, I HATE the term "boo". If there's no ghost involved, don't say it. It's dumbth. But the real reason I hate it is simple: you have two great talents like this do a duet and this flaccid, generic song is the best you can do? LAME.
3. "Rich Girl" - Gwen Stefani & Eve
Um, yeah. "Fiddler On The Roof" dance tunes. Right. Eve, call your agents. Fire them.
4. "Photograph" - Nickelback
As long as you boneheads keep recording the same frickin' song with new words, I'll keep hating them. Here's to many more years of generic rock and mutual hatred.
5. "My Humps" - The Black Eyed Peas
I take it back. This should have been #1. Why in the hell do people like this song? It's completely vapid. And that chick's voice makes my sphincter clench in a most unpleasant manner. Didn't the Black Eyed Peas used to make relevant music? "Let's Get Retarded" was more relevant than this. And the first time I'm in the club and some chick accuses me of looking at her "lovely lady lumps", I'm throwing up all over her. It'll be her own fault for saying something so STOOPID so I won't feel bad. If you like this song, I BEG you to reconsider.
Other dishonourable mentions include:
- "Switch" - Will Smith (BOR-ING)
- "Listen To Your Heart" - D.H.T. (ATTENTION LAME DANCE GROUPS! STOP REMAKING 80'S CLASSICS AND MAKE YOUR OWN BLIP-BLIP GARBAGE)
- Anything that comes out of Ashlee Simpson's mouth

"Beautiful Soul" Jesse McCartney
I want to throw up every time I hear this crap.
"These Boots Are Made For Walking" Jessica Simpson
I wonder if Nick had listened to this song, if he would have known what was coming. That being said...I hate her version, I hated her video, and I hate her.
And that horrible remake of "Listen to Your Heart" I think NewRo covered it best.

I would have included this but I'd forgotten about it. And for good reason.

Re: Your WORST 5 Songs of 2005
In no particular order:
"Switch" - Will Smith
This is the Funky Headhunter material of today. Give it up and stick to acting, Not-so-Fresh Prince.
"My Humps" - Black Eyed Peas
I like everything else I've heard by BEP except this song. Why women want to refer to their body parts as lumps is beyond me...unless they're lumpy.
"Poison" - Groove Coverage
Yet another craptacular eurodance remake! This time Alice Cooper takes the heat.
"Axel F" - Crazy Frog
This is fucking ridiculous. What's worse is that THIS version is covered on one of them Kidz Bop compilations. I'd like to bop 'em in the head.
"Laffy Taffy" - D4L
A latecomer in the year. Now we're referring to body parts as Willy Wonka candy? Hope you like it lumpy.

Re: Your WORST 5 Songs of 2005
Glad to know that I'm not the only one that hates that Black Eyed Peas song. Stupid as hell and annoying to boot. Gwen Stefani sucks ass as well. How I long for the No Doubt days.
Those are the only songs that I really despised. Oh yeah, and Kevin Federline's mess, but that isn't really released yet. I listened to it on a dare and wanted to either puke or laugh, not sure which one.

Re: Your WORST 5 Songs of 2005
Yep, I've got to go along with 'My Boo' by Usher/Alicia Keys, 'Axel F' by Crazy Frog and 'My lumps' by Black eyed Peas - all of which thoroughly do my head in.
The other two probably goes to 'United nations' dance mixes of Steve Winwood's 'Valerie' (called 'Call me') and 'Waiting for a star to fall' not because I hate the songs but because the music industry don't seem to know what integrity is (grrrr - gets me mad it does, lol).
