Re: Any new music recommendations?
The Bravery - The Sun and The Moon (if you loved their first album, I guarantee you'd love this one...because I love it!)
Blaqk Audio - CexCells (For AFI fans and some techno/rave fans)
Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me (NOTHING like their previous albums, but it's worth the listen)
Timbaland - Shock Value (Okay...random, but it's also worth listening to)
Shinedown - Us and Them, Leave A Whisper (A little bit of Southern Rock, but if you listen for the awesome vocals, you'll love it)
The Used - Lies for the Liars (It's one guilty pleasure...lots of screaming, and random little things in some of the songs. If you heard the Transformers soundtrack, you might want to give this album a try)
Onerepublic - Apologize (Their CD isn't out yet, but I'm sure you've been hearing their song Apologize all around. I haven't gotten the chance to pick up their album yet, but once I do, I'm sure I'll love it. You can check out a few more songs on their MySpace)
Taking Back Sunday - Louder Now (Okay, getting a little more emo, but this has dance tracks, a bit of screaming (but not too much), and it's hella catchy)
AFI - Decemberunderground (BUY IT...it's awesome. It's new. It'll steal your soul. I dunno...but I saw these guys live and it was amazing.)
I could go on and on....but i must move on. For now...muahahha!

Re: Any new music recommendations?
I recommend 2 DJs from the Netherlands.
1 | Erick E. Earlier this year, he stormed the UK chart with The Beat is Rockin' which I seriously think is (and will remain) the BEST song of 2007. It just makes me want to get up and dance. I love it!
2 | Fedde Le Grand. Known for his dance smash Put Your Hands Up For Detroit as well as two remixes: The Creeps (vs Camille Jones) and Let Me Think About It (vs. Ida Corr). The latter one is the best of the three, and is coming close to ranking at #2 in my faves of 2007

I find this interesting since the OneRepublic song "Apologize" is also on the Timbaland album since he produced the remix that's so hot right now. I'm anxious to see how the band sounds and fares without Tim working with them.

*snort*...Freddy's collaboration with Funkerman on "Wheels In Motion" is fun pop-py club muzak.
I'd probably like the Erick E. track more if the vocals were absent. The music makes for a good Electro track. And speaking of, if you're into that sort of thing here's a list of a few Electro cuts I'm currently digging (some may be up to a year or so old):
Chemical Brothers - "Salmon Dance" (Crookers "Wow" Remix)
Dusty Kid - "The Cat" (Crookers Remix)
Steed Lord - "Dirty Mutha" (Crookers Mix)
Tiga - "You Gonna Want Me"
Coldcut - "Walk A Mile In My Shoes" (Tiga Mix)
The Migrants - "I Thought That" (Plastik Funk, Boris Dlugosch & Outwork Remixes)
Mason - "Exceeder" (Tomcraft Mix)
Peaches - "Downtown" (Simian Mobile Disco Mix)
Felix Da Housecat - "Like Something 4 Porno" (Armand Van Helden Mix)
DJ Dan - "Rock To The Rhythm" (Starkillers Remix)
Johnny Crockett - "E For Electro"
Outwork feat. Mr. Gee - "Elektro"
And basically any tracks remixed by Tommie Sunshine, Dirty South, Tiga, Crookers, Tomcraft & SMD are perking my ears up.

Re: Any new music recommendations?
LISTEN TO CARTEL!!! I COMMAND YOU!!
I promise they have nothing to do with rap....except for like, ONE track but that's a collab track with Wyclef Jean.
Listen to either of their albums:
Cartel - Chroma (1st album...SWEET stuff. Poppy, but rocky, LISTEN!)
Cartel - Cartel (2nd album....LOVE IT!! Listen and you'll love, I promise)
Well, I don't promise much, but give it a chance to listen to!!

Re: Any new music recommendations?
OK, before you say it...I know it's not NEW new...I think it came out last February. I'm just extremely slow when it comes to new music (hell most of the time I'm still stuck in 1984) so it's new to me anyways (I just figured out what the song was from the other night at BW3)...ANYWAYS...I like Nelly Futado's Say it right. It's got a good beat and you can dance to it. (Sorry, that was a flashback from American Bandstand)

OneRepublic - Dreaming Out Loud
It's like a mixture of The Fray, Jack's Mannequin, and Straylight Run. I think the album is great. There's a few tracks on there that aren't my favorite, but everyone has their own taste in music. I don't regret buying the album. (Yes. I bought it for the bf for his b-day and I burned it.)

I enjoyed the Rolling Stone review.
"But Timbaland has given them a huge hit with his remix of 'Apologize,' and a fine hit it is, too: a compellingly incongruous teen-romance melodrama, cutting Ryan Tedder's bland vocals with a stuttering R&B drum loop. On the rest of the album, OneRepublic get to assert their own identity, which is a drag, since the half-loud guitars and the sob-in-the-throat vocals could be absolutely anybody."
And this sterling conclusion...
"From the CD booklet, it seems like the band members are devoutly religious, so maybe they should sing about God instead of girls, which would definitely be more interesting."
Two whopping stars.
Mind you, I usually don't pay music critics much attention. Some of my favourite albums of all time are some of the most critically lambasted, such as Adam Ant's "Manners & Physique", Cheap Trick's "Busted", and just about any Duran Duran album made since 1983. But when you AND RS compare the band to The Fray, I have to wonder. I liked The Fray's initial single but haven't heard anything of interest since. (I'm one of those rare folks that could not STAND "How To Save A Life" and I don't give a damn about the stupid TV show that milked it either.)
Oh, the RS review compared them to Nickelback as well. That's like a death sentence.
And before anyone (ROTH) starts yelling at ME, please note that I didn't actually express an opinion on the album one way or another. I haven't even heard it yet. Maybe I'll listen to it taking the midget to school in a bit. Hey, someone around here has to be the Devil's advocate.

Actually, why WOULD you yell at me? I discovered long ago that yelling at anyone about stuff like music doesn't tend to change their opinion. In fact, I've found that tends to only increase their dislike of whatever music you're defending.
I finished the album. And you can yell if you want because I actually found it to be one of the most BORING experiences I've had in a long time listening to an album. I didn't hear anything that would make OneRepublic stand out from any of these other "sensitive rockers" out there. They make Coldplay sound like headbangers.
Then again, that may be unfair to say. It may be unfair because some of these other bands DO occasionally try to rock whereas it didn't sound like OneRepublic even gave it a shot. Hell, I told TV9 that they made Christopher Cross look like Motley Crue. I wish Timbaland HAD produced the entire album because his track was the only one with any personality to it. Everything else just seemed to blend into a fifty-minute sludgefest.
You've recommended a few great bands to me, Roth. I just don't think this is one of them. This just struck me as generic, faceless quasi-rock. Don't get me wrong. They're obviously competent musicians. I just think what they play is bland and instantly forgettable. I'm stunned because I don't think I've agreed with a Rolling Stone album review since they were the only ones praising Information Society's "Hack" nearly twenty years ago. But here we are. I've heard this all before and I've heard it done better.
So you can yell now if you like but I'm probably still gonna not like it. Except the Timbaland remix. I say get that track and be done with it. Honestly, if these guys get another big hit without Tim's production, I'll be quite stunned. And just to add one last little needling, the album's #17 debut on the charts was beaten by Keith Urban (Ehhhhhhh evil country!!! Not pretty! Ugly!), Jordin Sparks (I Won American Idol And All I Got Was This Low Debut), and Josh Groban.
JOSH. GROBAN.
Maybe you should try to get Oprah to like OneRepublic. Josh Groban. Shiiiiit.
