Not unless you call the turntable an instrument. I'm more of a "putting the pieces together" guy - the drums, bassline, harmonic sounds and stuff. I've worked on a few remixes of songs for personal use, nothing extremely fancy, as I don't have the tools and time to really get into it.
My brother plays bass guitar and was in a ska/punk band a few years ago.
I only ever wanted to play drums, from the time I first heard music. My parents thought it was too loud. They got me a clarinet. I refused to play it. Eventually I'll have enough cash to buy a drum kit. Then I'll teach myself how to play the damned things.

Hey! I just consider a DJ the "5th member" of the band! Without them turning a band's music, the band goes nowhere!

Well had my parents had their way, I'd still be playing Trombone! I was self taught on drums, been playing for about 22 years now. It takes a long while to get the basics down being self taught.

I've been playing professionally since I was 14...
Instrument: Drums
Genre: I've played everything from old-time waltzes to punk but mostly Top 40 rock
Influences: Buddy Rich, Ed Shaughnessy, Ronnie Tutt and once I started playing I was impressed/influenced by Peter Criss, Larry Londin, Jerry Mercer and Tico Torres. Sorry but I think Bonham was a basher and Ringo had HORRIBLE meter...but that's just me...
Instrument: Guitar
Genre: Rock (and a li'l country)
Influences: My Dad and Peter Frampton...the first time I heard Do You Feel Like We Do I knew I wanted to play guitar...plus I wanted to write and it's pretty tough to write on the drums
Instrument: Bass
Genre: Rock
Influences: Michael Anthony, Flea

Ringo did pretty good! I mean...Revolution and Helter Skelter...C'mon! Revolution was the first song that could remotely go on to be metal, and look how many metal covers there were of Helter Skelter.
NOBODY could touch Buddy Rich, that I'll give ya! Lotsa folks give way too much credit to Niel Peart (Rush), but hell, take away about 40 of his drums and he couldn't touch Bonham!
Bonham a Basher? Damn! Listen to his 7 minute solo of Moby Dick. HARDLY bashing!

- Andrew Starr and Dave Rajput of Windy City DJs (they produced, programmed and spun the weekly Hot Mix show back in the day)
- Shep Pettibone (Remixer/DJ - remixed a bunch of Madonna's tracks in the mid- to late 80's and early 90's as well as a slew of other artists; noted in one interview that it's not just about matching beats but keys of songs as well)
- Jeff K (spun EdgeClub 94 in Dallas in the early 90's; opened my mind up to the world of techno )
- Thunderpuss (Chris Cox & Barry Harris - Cox used to run the Hot Tracks Remix service. Harris was also in Kon Kan. Pairing this team together brought many energetic dance tunes to the floor in the late 90's 'til now.)
