A great single from their follow-up to the Hot Fuss album.
2. “Sex ‘N Money” – Paul Oakenfold feat. Pharrell Williams
In my opinion THE best dance track of the year. Sure, Brittany Murphy’s vocals on Oakenfold’s “Faster Kill Pussycat” are mind-blowing, but this track takes the cake, leaving you Hot! Hot! Hot!
3. “SexyBack” – Justin Timberlake
Holy crap. I first heard this on the dance station here way back and later come to realize it’s Justin fucking Timberlake. Eh, I still like it. Props to Timbaland on production.
4. “Tear You Apart” – She Wants Revenge
They’ve been compared to Joy Division, and they rock. I first heard this quite a few months back on the alternative station here in Phoenix and instantly grew fond of it.
5. “White And Nerdy” – “Weird Al” Yankovic
Don’t call it a comeback! He’s been here for years! And finally cracked the U.S. Top 10. Awesome work, Al. Looking forward to what you bring to us in the future.
Honourable mentions go to the following:
“Suffer Well” – Depeche Mode
“Promiscuous” (Ralphi Rosario Mix) – Nelly Furtado
“Faster Kill Pussycat” – Paul Oakenfold feat. Brittany Murphy
“Love Don’t Let Me Go” – David Guetta
“Who’s Your Daddy” – Benny Benassi
“Ring The Alarm” (Freemasons Club Mix) – Beyonc?
“D?j? Vu” (Freemasons Mix) – Beyonc? feat. Jay-Z
“Tracking Treasure Down” – Gabriel & Dresden
“Straight To Video” – Mindless Self Indulgence
An update of Leo Sayer's 1977 hit "Thunder in My Heart". Originally, isn't one of Leo's best known hits, barely breaking the Top 40 in the US/Canada. This remix hit #1 in the UK. The original 1977 version can be seen
Kelly is a trance artist, evident with her years as voice of N-Trance, but for this song, she took a crack at disco and the record buying public did not agree (apparent from it's non chart placing in the UK). It was big in the clubs though
They hail from my hometown, have been putting out hit records since the late 80s, and are now the most successful band in Canada. I have never liked them at all, until I caught the video for this on TV one night. Damn, it's just so catchy!
