Re: Favorite Toys of the 80's

Best toy I had in the 80s was my Atari 7800. 23 years later, and I still have it, with now accumulated games of over 150

I was also big into the He-Man action figures. I had most of them, complete with Snake Mountain Playset (which doubled as a microphone)

and last but not least, LJN Wrestling figures, complete with plastic wrestling ring. I still have them all, which I am considering selling on Ebay.

- We had a few of those rockets that you filled with water and pumped them with some pump and they flew in the air. Those were cool.
- Rubik's Cube/Pyramix/Missing Link (still have the Missing Link puzzle)

I'll think of some more later.
Stompers were awesome, I had one that was a Ford cabover tow-truck. (We used to have this sheepdog that hated it, I'd run it past him and he'd always growl at it and try to bite it.

I also had 2 Rubik's Cubes, one was the real deal and the other was this cheap knock-off (which it seemed like there were plenty of) which instead of having colors on each side, had like the ace of spades, the king of hearts, the jack of diamonds, etc. on each side. I don't recall ever actually solving it, but I remember that you could cheat by twisting it in a certain way so it would break apart and then reassemble it in its correct pattern. I also had a Pyraminx (which actually seemed quite easy to solve), and an "Orb," which was a grey ball which had tracks that had different colored beads, and you had to twist it around and align the different tracks so you could slide thebeads into their correct patterns.

Re: Favorite Toys of the 80's

Besides my Atari 2600 and Nintendo, I loved my Simon.

And the little snake-like Rubik's cube (I used to have one that was miniture keychain sized that's play with)

UNO, Yahtzee, and I had a homemade cabbage patch doll that I named after both of my grandmothers (Sophie Jane), she is still in a homemade cradle at my parents house. By the time I got her though I wasn't too interested in dolls (not that I ever really had the maternal interest too much anyways).

Mostly loved my little cassette boombox, I was always making mix tapes off the radio, and used to drag my record albums to school dances. lol

I got a mini Pound Puppy from a friend in 1986, and I'll cherish that one, because I treasured my friendship with that friend (whom I lost contact with a few years ago unfortunately).

I loved my brother's Garbage Pail Kids cards, and often would paint his Matchbox cars with my nail polish (poor kid playing with hot pink hotwheels!)

I played the hell out of those little water-filled handheld games called "TOMY Waterfuls". I think we had a basketball themed one and a couple other cheap knock-off titles.

Used to play, on occasion, with my little brother's Transformers. Mostly transforming them back and forth (it didn't take much to entertain me)

I used to love going to the pediatrition because they had the coolest toys in the waiting room - Linkin Logs and Legos and they had Highlights magazine.
