What did you wear in the 80's?

I was a fashion chameleon in the 80's. Some of the stuff I wore:

Op Corduroy (sp) shorts
Muscle shirts
Polo shirts (IZOD or whatever the one with the alligator)
Parachute pants
Levi's 501's
Rugby shirts
Converse Chuck Taylors hi-tops
Vans sneakers
Airwalk sneakers
T-Shirts with logos: T&C Surf & Skate, Quiksilver, Vuarnet
British Knights sneakers
Nikes
Reeboks

What did you wear?

Jeans, usually Levi's 501's and t-shirts. Pretty boring, I know but it was easy to decide what to wear.

Unfortunately, my Grandma made a lot of my clothes when I was younger, so I was never in fashion for a few years.

Other than that, I remember wearing acid-wash jeans, penny loafers, Sergio Valente jeans ( ), a NKOTB t-shirt, scrunch socks, jelly shoes, sweaters with puffy sleeves, and some sweater vest-type thing that was open on the sides. I remember I used to wear it with a teal-colored turtleneck. Accessories usually included some kind of novelty earrings and shoelaces, my plastic charm necklace, jelly bracelets, and friendship bracelets.

I totally forgot about British Knights until Midas mentioned it - whatever happened to those things?

I was rarely in style, but that's ok.

white pants with thin rainbow colored pinstripes
a "simon LeBon/Duran Duran/Hungry like the wolf" safari hat
jelly shoes (until they gave me blisters)
purple leg warmers
a red polo shirt with black horizontal pinstripes (those were my school colors - black and red - back when I had some school spirit)
Anything sparkley I could get...still have a weird glitter obsession
Blue and purple and peach and brown eyeshadow and green eyeliner (thankfully not all at once - I think I'd have looked like Mimi from Drew Carey Show)
Denim shirt with lace insert up the whole back of the shirt
teal sweater with a black griffin bird on it
a white polo-type shirt with bright neon pink line around the chest area on it was also advertised Venizencia (or some company I can't remember how to spell)

Hmmm....Ripped up 501s, Denim Jacket with a Ride the lightning logo, Studs, Leather....Oh and long hair (that was back when I HAD hair!)

And we used to "peg" our pants - roll them in the tiniest, tightest rolls we could.

Midas, it's convenient that you started wearing those short overalls just after the 80s so you don't have to mention them here. :P You forgot to mention the Smurf tee-shirts and tiny little shorts. Damn, I wish I had stolen those pics!!!

To fill everyone in, I saw a pic of Midas as a young lad with his sibs and cousin. All of them were wearing smurf t-shirts and very short shorts.

Yeah, the short overalls were 1991 so

I tried to forget the Smurf shirts and short shorts. I was 10 and didn't buy my own clothes!

Yeah, and the pics are (not so) proudly displayed in the hallway at my brother's house now.
