I was just curious about those who have cellphones: What provider do you use? Are you happy with their service?
From about 1997 until a month ago I was with Alltel (fka 360) and their service was okay for the most part, but expensive. I now have virtually the same plan with T-Mobile for nearly half the cost, and I've had excellent service so far. TrippyDish also has T-Mobile and has had it for over a year and I haven't heard her complain about their service. And it's the only phone we have (no landlines).
I have Cingular/AT&T. It drops calls on me all the time and many times I have bad reception.

I gave up my cellphone last year, and my land line last month. The phone companies just want too much money. I have a friend who is paying $100 a month for his cell service.
We signed up with VoicePulse. VoIP phone service, like Vonage. Works through your broadband internet connection. $25 flat a month, no contract. For that, we get all the features you have to pay extra for from the phone company. Caller ID, Call Waiting, Filters, the works. Unlimited long distance. We use our own phone, so it's not like we use software and a headset. It's completely transparent to us and to people who call us.
We were paying Verizon $30 a month after charges and taxes and fees, for strictly local phone service. We bought phone cards for our long distance service. And we had no extras on the line whatsoever. This was as basic as phone service gets. Now we feel like we've been taking it up the ass from the phone company for the last year. I highly recommend it. Unless you require the portability of a cell phone. If you want our number, let me know.

I was looking at stuff like that (Vonage included). Right now it is cheaper for us to have a landline and DSL, but the price of DSL will go up in a year (we pay $14.95 for bare bones DSL, but it's only introductory), so I'll probably cut the phone service and do what you are doing.
As far as cellphone service, I had both Cingular and T-Mobile at different times. Cingular sucked balls (they let me rack up an $800 bill before cutting the service), but T-Mobile was awesome. I ALWAYS had a signal, they billed me in a timely manner, and the customer service was excellent. I hated cutting off my phone, but it had to be done for financial reasons.
If I ever do get another cellphone, it would definitely be through T-Mobile.

I've been with Verizon forever, and have always loved them. Their coverage area is huge - I can count on one hand the times I haven't had a signal in the past 5 years, and I travel about 4 to 6 times a year, including road trips. My husband and I only have cell phones - we disconnected our land line a long time ago. It works out really well for us.
