I went for McIntrye, Blake & Burns, they just cracked me up. Similarly Colonel Flagg, what a great piece of casting he was.
Also liked Sidney Freedman a lot.
All of these characters appeared in the earlier series (Freedman appeared occasionally throughout the series) and I think for that reason it is why liked the earlier ones. The show got a little dark and heavy toward the end of it's run.

I stuggled to pick five
I was never a fan of M.A.S.H. and I only watched it with hubby, as it was a favourite of his.
Anyway, I eventually decided on;
Charles Emerson Winchester III
Frank Burns
Sherman Potter
Henry Blake
Francis Mulcahy
I grew to like Charles' and Frank's characters for some reason - distinct opposites, I know
I liked old Sherman and Henry (did he die in the show or something ?) and I HAD to add the Priest
I found all the others irritating...sorry Fussy

Yes, Henry was killed off, his plane home "...went down in the Sea of Japan. There were no survivors". I remain upset to this day

The characters I found most annoying were the two who could never be reasoned with, two of the main characters, Hawkeye and Hotlips

I watch reruns of MASH almost everynight (well, not by choice, but I'm in the room
)
Anyway, the older I get, the more I find Hawkeye, Trapper and BJ just plain annoying...
I now tend to favour Charles, Klinger and Radar.
I always preferred Potter to Blake.
Nurse Kellye is pretty cute, in a weird sort of way...

Only one choice for me...I chose Hawkeye. He was the heart and soul of that show. He could make me laugh and/or cry every episode.
Plus, I got to play him in a spoof once...my character was called Hawkeye Pissed..and yes, he was a drunk!
