Volume 1 - Ten Internationally successful Canadian Hits of the 70s
There are too many to fit in one poll, so for starters, here are 10 Canadian Artists (Betcha didn't know Rick James was Canadian, eh?), with 10 hits of the 70s that all saw International success somewhere in the world ...
For me, it's gotta be "Could You Ever Love Me Again". Such a beautiful ballad

Oh I'm different, I picked "Rock Me Gently" by Andy Kim, then "American Woman".
Jason, don't want to dispute you on something, but Rick James is from Buffalo, NY, unless Buffalo is now part of Canada I didn't know of. I've actually been to his grave, which is not far from me.

She's right. I checked one of my niggling reference books. Rick was born February 1, 1948 in Buffalo, NY.

Thanks NewRomantic for checking it out. I knew I wasn't delusional. I remember when he died his funeral was everywhere on the local news.
Jason, I think you're thinking of him moving to Canada in the 60s. He was in a band with Neil Young before Neil went on to join Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

That is apparently all it took. According to CANCON, Rick James fully qualified as a Canadian Artist in the 70s.
In the former RPM Charts (which helped determine hit singles in Canada), a Canadian Content logo was placed next to the songs that qualified as Canadian, which in turn helped Canadian Artists get their songs played on the radio

It was a tough call on this one...I chose Stand Tall by Burton Cummings as that song has deep meaning to me...it was close though, I almost went with Patsy Gallant...
