Thompson Twins Poll

This was a tough choice for me. I finally settled on "Nothing In Common".

Re: Thompson Twins Poll

An equally tough choice for me but *I* chose "King For A Day".

Runners-up would be "Sugar Daddy", "Lies", and an album cut from the Close To The Bone album named "Bush Baby".

Some great tracks there. 'Lay your hands on me' was the one for me because I love the rousing chorus.

And you folks in the UK got a better single mix of that song than we did in the States in my opinion. The chorus is much more uplifting than the one on the U.S. mix.

Really? I didn't know there was a difference. Such a shame. It's bad when that happens because the Thompson Twins were just too class (though I remember in an interview they said they hadn't got a clue what they were doing at the time - too modest I think).

Oh indeed there is. I played the UK single mix on one of my live shows once and Midas was just HOUNDING me about it immediately. Weren't you, Midas?

I hung with them through "Sugar Daddy" and then just sort of floated away. I think I'm also one of maybe a dozen people that liked their "Close To The Bone" album.
