Here it is, your preview of the Beta Website. If you want to explore it for yourself, then go
HERE
This first image is the main page. This is what will be greeting visitors to RR once this goes live (which should be in the next week or so).
You'll notice the navigation on the left side of the screen, directing you through the site:
One of the first things you'll notice is the login block on the right. The new RR site will require a membership (the membership is separate from the RRN membership, there is no way to integrate the 2 databases) to do much more than view what song is currently playing. Attempting to view the playlist, for example will result in this:
To register, simply look at this block:
After registering and receiving your confirmation, you can log in. The first thing you will see is your Member Page:

This is also where you log out from. Access it by clikcing "My Account" in the top Navigation Menu.
On the left side, you will also notice a new block:

This block is here for ease instead of using the link at the top of the page and switching pages.
The Now Playing page gets a serious facelift and restructuring in this new design:

Included here is not just album name, artist and title. Now you can also see:
- Number of time the song has ever been played
- Number of time's the song has been requested in the current year
- Bass Tabs, Guitar Tabs, Drum Tabs
- Song Rating (voted by registered members)
These are a few of the items for you to see:
The Playlist and Requests page also recives a facelift:
When you visit the page, you can search for what you desire based on artist, song title, album, lyrics. You can browse by Artist or Album. You can browse by letter. Requesting is as simple as finding your artist, your desired album, and clicking request for the song of your choice:
But, you can go one step further, and click the song name rather than "Request". Doing so will bring you to the Song Info window:

Of course, you can alo make your request from here, as well as adding/viewing song lyrics or adding your comments.
For those who want to know why you have to register, there are a couple reasons:
- It stop spammers. Some comments on songs from the current version of the site are spam ads, placed in by bots. Requiring registration to interact with the station database prevents this.
- When you make a request, your username is attached to that request. It doesn't just say ~requested~ on the Now Playing page. It says it was requested by YOU. And that name sticks with it not only while the song plays, but as it's listed in Coming Soon, and in the recently played list.
- Having names attached to requests drops the likelihood that some people will be abusing the request system. People as a rule are less likely to be asshats when their name is actaually tied to the request for the world to see. Plus, if they have to register everytime they want to request with a new name, they'll tire of it much faster.
Does this mean listeners will go elsewhere rather than register? Possibly. But I think this design brings RR into a much more modern era, and I believe this design gives us greater flexibility than we have ever had before.
