As it has been almost a year since the last time we polled our membership on this question, and as people's connections change over time, it is once again time for us to ask you this question.
How do you listen to Renegade Retro? Do you use dial-up, or are you on broadband? I'd like to gather this information so I can determine if the time has yet come to upgrade the stream quality for those who don't use Winamp with MP3Pro.

I think you already know I'm a DSL user since broadcasting CGR on dial-up probably wouldn't work that well.
I'm embarrassed to say I still use dial up, but I am hoping by the end of May or the beginning of June I'll be getting DSL. I'm getting sick of dial up and am so wanting DSL.
I usually use Windows Media Player but at the lab I use the station website's doodad to fire up the Winamp

As last time, We use Cable Broadband (Chooch and I). Don't think it makes one difference, but we have two computers (Chooch has her own and I have my own) both connected via Router to the Cable Modem!

With an 8 to 1 margin, I think it's a clear sign that Renegade Retro needs to finally upgrade the stream quality.
So, I have done so. With the conclusion of Midas' show this evening, when the stream switched back it will be switched over to 64K mp3PRO.
Our apologies to our dial-up listeners, but we have to do what is best for RR and the sound of the music. We hope to see you when you eventually upgrade your internet service.

Well, it was fun as it lasted. I don't like the change, because I have dialup and i loved listening to the station, and I know I'm not the only one who has dialup. But I know it has to be done for the best of the station, I wish you could reconsider though.

While I have Roadrunner cable internet, the new setting has a peculiar effect on my computer. Every song has alot of what I can only descriibe as tweeting in the background. It's kind of interesting in a way, like every song is being played Snow White's forest (with all the tweeting birds) lol.
I will probably still listen, until I can't stand the "birds" anymore.
I wonder if there is some kind of setting I have to do to make it sound normal..

I found out via e-mail a bit ago that my Mom won't be helping me get DSL. And since right now, my finances aren't that great, I won't be getting it anytime soon.
This has been a great place, and I know I shouldn't get upset over it, because you have to do what's best for the whole of the station, and since there isn't many who have dialup you can cater to us who still do. I wish I could get DSL, but for now I'll just have to stick with dialup. I wish there was a way to listen to the shows though, because I liked them. Oh well.
I'll post here, I hope you guys still let me. *lol*
