I took the plunge today, and upgraded the RR stream. As of today, the station is now broadcasting in 64K mp3PRO Stereo, rather than 32K mp3PRO Stereo. This now has the station broadcasting at CD Quality for those of you who listen to the station with an mp3PRO enabled player.
For those who do not listen to the station in an mp3PRO enabled player, there is still a benefit in that the signal will sound clearer (but still below FM quality) and will now be in stereo.
The drawback, however, is that if you listen to the station over a dial-up connection, you will most likely no longer be able to listen to the station. If this is you, please let me know. I'd rather downgrade the stream back to 32K mp3PRO signal than turn off a few listeners.

Yep - that is me. I can't get it anymore - it buffers every few seconds...
Well see, this is why I posted that poll a month before I made the switch, to see if it was going to cause problems for anyone. When no one answers that they use anything less than broadband after a month, I get the impression that it's OK to switch.
I've downgraded the stream back to 32K mp3Pro now, so you should be OK to listen again.

Thanks Thom, I really appreciate that. Hey, did you see the dedication I left for you two Saturdays ago?
