Actually, on further reflection it makes it impossible to go broke. All someone has to do is place a minimum bet on each option, ensuring each one now has a payout of at least $1000, and no matter who wins you make money, potentially a LOT of money. That idea is massively flawed and I'm killing it.
Instead, each betting option will be given a base amount of $100. Minimum bet amount will also be $100, so there is risk involved, but if no one bets against you, can at least double your minimum bet if you win.
Edit: I may also have to scrap that idea as it appears there is no option to set a minimum bet amount in the sports pools, and I'll be damned if someone will just be able to put a couple bucks on each option, ensuring they make money each time.

I was able to up my bets for most, but not all. Now that I have an extra $5, I'll put it on the Lions getting shut out this weekend

Don't get me wrong, I'm not downing anyone who's betting low hoping for an upset to give 'em a big win. It's just if I set a default amount already in place on each outcome without requirring a minimum bet that at least matches it, someone could bet a low amount on EACH outcome, and no matter what the outcome, they'd win more than they bet.
