By Brendan Butler: After being out of commission for 14 years, the androgynous 80?s metal ensemble Twisted Sister reunited for a tour in 2001. And now, for some reason, they will join forces again?this time for a gleeful Christmas record.
While wiping off the five gallons of makeup from his face, Dee Snider told Billboard, "You know, "Come All Ye Faithful" is actually "We're Not Gonna Take It." I think I subliminally stole the melody.'" He continued, "So we recorded 'We're Not Gonna Take It' and put 'Come All Ye Faithful' in, and it worked with some changes. We added a Black Sabbath version of 'Hava Nagilah' at the end of the song. Then we came up with 10 songs and decided to connect them with bands that we really love."
Lita Ford, another has-been of the '80?s, will appear on the festive album, singing a duet on ?I?ll Be Home For Christmas.? Dee has his theories on why anybody would want to listen to a Twisted Sister Christmas album, saying "It's a great idea, I think the Christmas album might actually get some attention because it's a novelty record, and it might get the attention that a regular Twisted Sister album could not." Good luck with all that, Dee.
As for the future of Twisted Sister, Dee is not too keen on it, saying in a Donald Rumsfeld-like fashion, "I've got a lot of things plaguing me. I really resented the older bands that would not know when to get off the f*ckin' stage. I want to get out of the way and let [younger bands] have their chance in the spotlight. Am I saying I'll never do anything ever again? No. But am I serious that I want it to end? Yes. Not because anything's wrong, but because everything's right, so I want it to end while everything's right."
Their artlessly titled A Twisted Christmas will hit shelves on October 17th via Razor & Tie records. It will make a great stocking stuffer for your deaf father.

It's a Bon Jovi thing. You wouldn't understand.
Where does the guy get off calling TS and Lita Ford "80s has-beens"?
Well, I suppose a case could be made for his right to call TS an 80's has-been, but anything else? No way. And I personally don't consider TS has-beens anyway, I love their music. Proven acts should never have to give up the stage for younger newer acts if people still want those proven acts.

So? Has anyone got this album? I finally found it yesterday and I gotta say...I freakin' LOVE it!! Maybe it's the novelty yet, but I'm diggin' the ass off of it!
Fave track so far has got to be Silver Bells although I love how they play on We're Not Gonna Take It in O Come, All Ye Faithful!!
I give this album 2 twisted thums-up!!

Speaking of Twisted Sister, have you seen the newish reality series (modeled after Kiss' Gene Simmons show) starring Dee Snider and his family, called "Growing up Twisted"? I've only seen a couple episodes but it was alright.
