I'll be damned, the Red Sox held in there. This is turning into a great year for New England Sports.
Of course, the last time Red Sox made the WS *and* the Pats made the SB (Which hasn't happened yet and is in no way guaranteed but they are scary good this year) was '86. And we know how THAT turned out (Bill Buckner/Chicago Bears) *shudder*

Once again, my old hometown team chokes and eats it just like they did back in 1997. Oh well. At least I'll get to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the last time the Indians won a Series in 2008.
"Just a reminder, fans, about 'Die Hard Night' coming up at the stadium: free admission to anyone who was actually alive the last time the Indians won a pennant."
I have to make a correction. The last time the Red Sox made the WS and the Pats made the SB was 2004. And they both won. But as a New England fan, my mind prefers to recall '86...

The Celtics won in '86, but I guess nobody cares about basketball these days
I think the Red Sox will still be considered the favorite but considering how well the Rockies have played and the fact that last year, a substandard Cardinals team beat the snot out of the supposedly superior Detroit team...ya never know.

I'd just like to say how much delight I took in seeing Colorado get their asses handed to them in only four games. Makes me want a sandwich. If only there was some kind of place I could get one. If there was only some WAY I could get a SUB now.
I'll think about it. In the meanwhile, I'll let TV9 bask in the Boston glow.
And did you witness that dismantling of the Washington Redskins today? Did ya? DIDJA???
You know I did. I told you so. Hell, even the backup QB ran a touchdown in today. It was such a thing of beauty. The only thing that marred it for me was Washington actually scoring. I so wanted a shutout of extraordinary magnitude.
Wow. I'm shocked... Really. Twice in my lifetime and my grandparents never got to see it even once. Life is good.

We actually witnessed the Redskins getting destroyed today. I guess Belichick and crew wanted to tell the rest of the NFL "fuck you" right before their matchup with Indy next week. It was ridiculous how they just kept running the score up, but in a strange, sick way...it was really fun to watch.
I hope the NL doesn't suck so much next year, I'd hate to see the NL sell out and adopt the DH

It's not running up the score. These guys are paid ridiculous amounts of money to a job. Defense is paid to prevent scoring. Offense is paid to score all they possibly can. If D can't do their job, it's still the offenses job to put that ball in the end zone. Aikman says it. Young says it. That's what they're paid to do.

I agree with that. I just felt like maybe they should have rested Brady earlier and the first-string RB as well, but I guess that's a moot point because nobody got hurt.
