NBA All-Star in Vegas
The only thing I am interested in is the fact that fatass Charles Barkley (whom I respect greatly) is racing 67-year-old referee Dick Bavetta during the event sometime. If someone can post the results or a video so that I can laugh my ass off that'd be great.

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
The NBA has an All-Star Game still? I haven't watched it since the last time Jordan was in it.

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
Yes, it's on this weekend on Sunday. Tonight is the skills competition, which have been scaled down quite a bit since the megastars often don't want to participate so you see random benchwarmers dunking instead of Vince Carter or Kobe or Lebron. Sad.
The NHL also has an All-Star game, but since the idiot commissioner negotiated the stupidest network deal in all of sports, nobody saw it this year.

That pissed me off. I'm a huge Detroit Red Wings fan, and before Beavis (Brian Burke is Butthead) decided to fuck everything up, I could watch a ton of their games on ESPN, because they were guaranteed ratings. Now, I can't even listen to the games on their official website anymore. It's fucking pathetic.
If this is the league's way to try and win fans over, it ain't working. I'll still follow my boys the best I can, but the NHL needs to do something similar to what MLB did and stream games live on the internet for paid subscribers. That way you can watch the games and the NHL makes money. All good, right? Wrong. Those goatlickers wouldn't think of doing that.

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
From AP:
Even before Kapono's performance, Las Vegas put on a show on the All-Star weekend's busiest night, complete with a disqualification and a repeat champion. There also was an entertaining sideshow: NBA star-turned-broadcaster Charles Barkley beat 67-year-old NBA referee Dick Bavetta in a footrace for charity.
Though Barkley, who turns 44 on Tuesday, has gained weight exponentially since his playing career, he still had enough spring to outrun Bavetta over 3 1/2 lengths of the court. Barkley nearly lost when he began running backward for the final feet, but tumbled over the half-court line just before Bavetta made a headfirst dive.
Barkley, whose gambling exploits have been well-documented, looked at the oversized check donated to charity for the event and commented it was "two blackjack hands."
Oh please have this on Youtube soon.

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
Always fun to watch a 67-year-old guy trash talk, especially when the target is Charles Barkley. I wonder how far Barkley could throw him out a plate glass window

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
So the West won by a lot...153-132. The East either forgot to play or didn't care or had too much prostitute sex the night before.

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
Looks like Kobe Bryant got the All Star MVP trophy too, although I thought Amare Stoudemire deserved consideration too.

Re: NBA All-Star in Vegas
The game 20 years ago ended 154-149 in OT I believe.
This year the West shot something retarded like 55% and there were at least 20 dunks in the game that I know of. The West has a lot of big guys and big guys who are also athletic usually wear the wee guys out.
