It's over. My crystal ball actually predicted White Sox in 6, but you know...

I'm not questioning your fanhood, I'm just saying that after going down 0-3, a loss is inevitable. The Red Sox sold their souls for what happened last year.

And if they continue the series tonight, that noise you'll be hearing around 11 PM Central will be me raising the roof.

MLB already raised the roof for the Astros, against their wishes.

While you have that crystal ball out, can you let me me know what the winning Texas Lottery numbers are for Saturday? I owe someone a night club.

Try the first six prime numbers. That might work.

Re: World Series 2005
I'd like to add that I am impressed that the Astros didn't roll over and die in Game 4. They fought to the very end, and Brandon Backe pitched like a madman. The problem, as always, was no hits with RISP. Very bad for both teams, but Dye's hit came at just the right time and turned out to be the difference.
Hats off to both teams. I was hoping for extra innings, I wanted this to go 7 games but after what happened in Game 2, I knew that wasn't going to happen.

WTF does that mean?
Anyhoodles....it was a good game...Im extremely depressed that we lost, and yes, I cried. Yes, I am crying.
I'm proud of them...and my congratulations to you Sox fans. I just wish you had done it in Chicago.
And with that...so ends the 2005 season.
See you next spring.

Didn't you know? Major League Baseball brass forced Houston to keep Minute Maid Park's roof open. The Astros wanted it closed to amplify the crowd noise, as they have a better record with the roof closed than open. I don't think it would have mattered, but you never know.
So in effect, MLB "raised the roof" on the Astros.

Re: World Series 2005
Oh criminy. What the hell does that have to do with the postseason when we have the damn roof all season long? I'd love to hear what they would make us do if we were still in the 'Dome.
The people who figured those stats probably get paid to figure out what color Gatorade is drunk most in high scoring innings.
And I bid you goodnight.

Although I LOVE what Houston did by beating the Braves....I was mad they beat my Cardinals and since my friend Donna is a huge White Sox fan, I was happy to see Chicago get the title. I am, however, truly sad for the awesome Astro's Fans but you guys are a great team. Best of luck next season

The damn roof was closed most of the time. The statistics don't lie. They are just statistics, but since baseball is all about probability (batting average, ERA, OBP, etc.) it makes a hell of a lot of difference. Even the Astros said so, they complained openly for the MLB forcing them to keep the roof open. That's all I was stating, I wasn't making anything up.
