Screw it. At least Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers rocked my world at halftime. "American Girl" sounds just as good 32 years after the fact.
As a postscript to that great halftime show, you may have seen the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers documentary film Best Buy is selling for about $30. It's called "Runnin' Down A Dream" and was directed by Peter Bogdanovich. If you're even a casual Petty fan, I really have to recommend buying it. This is not one of those schlock boxes Best Buy normally sells...like that really ubergay pink Elton John disaster from a few years back. This was worth every penny spent. Petty and pretty much everyone else that was ever in the band are incredible storytellers and the archived live footage is, for lack of a better word, electric. If you're not a bigger fan by the time it's finished, you were never going to be one in the first place. The 2-DVD movie (which is four hours long - I recommend watching it in two parts over a couple nights) also comes with a third DVD of the band's 30th anniversary concert in Gainesville, FL AND a CD containing some of the performances and rarities in the film.
Sorry for the long spam-like paragraph but DAMN. It was a really good movie.

Saw part of it this past weekend, it was on the Sundance channel I think...
Run could have been better. They did get yards on the ground when needed.
Brady outperformed Eli. I wouldn't call that contained.
The O-Line didn't hold. The game was on the Defense to win. They did it admirably, but failed to hold on for 40 more seconds.
It most certainly was an upset, however. You must not have been watching the same game as I was. Until that last drive, the Giants were held to 10 points. The Giants D came up bigger than anyone expected against the Pats offense. It was the Pats for the taking, and they had an epic failure when it mattered most.
That said, here's to next year. At least I didn't break my TV.

The reason I think of it not as an upset is because the NY defense dominated the game. Tom Brady only outperformed Eli Manning because he threw more passes. And Eli Manning has shown the ability to engineer short, clock-saving scoring drives, so I wasn't too surprised with the game winning TD. I think Brady's ankle was probably a bit messed up though, he looked like he was struggling to unload some of his deep throws because he couldn't plant.
NYG as a team outgained the Pats 338 to 274 yards and led in both net passing and rushing. They also seemed to move the ball much better than the Pats until the end of the fourth quarter when Belicheck finally went balls out. I think the NYG were thinking that they knew they were going to win rather than "ZOMFG we might actually win this one!!!1one!11!"
So...not an upset.
The 72 Dolphins are douchebags though.
