Ya know, I can remember even in the mid 90's during commentary during the Patriots-Packers Superbowl that the AFC was football's bitch. That they were consistently inferior, lost vastly more Superbowls, the NFC had the better coaching staffs, etc.
As far as I'm concerned, the NFC can continue to suck sweaty nutsack. It's about time they consistently blew dead donkey dick for a while like the AFC did.
Go Pats.

Aw, don't sweat it. Look on the bright side, if it wasn't for the current NFC, we'd have to watch old videos of the XFL to see what bad football looks like.

Hell wit all y'all. My poor beaten-down NFC Lions not only won...and not only won by a 15-point margin...but they won ON THE ROAD. In OAKLAND. The usual odds on this are astronomical so I'm giving credit where credit is due. I just have to wait and see if Detroit really looked that good or if Oakland continues to suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.

I don't think Oakland really sucked that much...the QB they used was doing fine statistically and the defense stood up pretty well, Detroit just played a heck of a lot better that day. Oakland will probably get better in a couple months when they work JaMarcus Russell into the QB spot after he gets up to speed...stupid lockout.
I don't think Detroit is gonna suck too much either, and especially if the Bears stupidly decide to stay with Grossman, Detroit has a chance like every other team in the North to win the division.

BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) - The NFL has determined that the New England Patriots violated league rules Sunday by videotaping defensive signals by the coaching staff of the New York Jets, according to a report on ESPN.com.
Citing sources, ESPN reported that the NFL has visual evidence to confirm the suspicions after league security officials confiscated a camera and videotape from a Patriots employee.
According to the report, Commissioner Roger Goodell is considering "severe" sanctions, which include the possibility of penalizing New England multiple draft picks because the team has been suspected of previous videotaping violations.
The Boston Herald, citing sources, reported that it's the fourth time in the past year that the Patriots have been caught illegally stealing signals from an opponent.
Sources told the Herald that the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers were among the teams who have caught the Patriots filming their signals.
"There's a league-wide perception that this is something they do," the Herald quoted one rival executive.
The Patriots reportedly will have a chance to defend themselves against the accusations by the end of the week.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN.com on Tuesday that no official decision has been made and that the Patriots have not been notified.
It doesn't stop there....
Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- New England coach Bill Belichick was fined the NFL maximum of $500,000 Thursday and the Patriots were ordered to pay $250,000 for videotaping an opponent's offensive and defensive signals.
Commissioner Roger Goodell also ordered the team to give up next year's first-round draft choice if it reaches the playoffs and second- and third-round picks if it doesn't.
"This episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid longstanding rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field," Goodell said in a letter to the Patriots.

I was following the Green Bay-Denver game online because they moved MNF to ESPN and we don't have cable. Why couldn't they have left it on ABC where more people could have seen it? But I digress.
Anyway, looks like Brett Favre won the game on like the second or third play of OT with an 82-yard TD pass. Talk about a bad week to be a Colorado sports fan...
