In terms of Australian sporting folklore, tonight goes down as the night when one of our country's longest sporting hoodoos has finally been broken.

I was 12 when we last went to a World Cup Finals, and it has been a long wait. Eight qualifying series' since, and eight last hurdle failures.

I think Canada is ranked around 1,397,264th in the soccer/football world

You are a little out with the ranking - Canada are 86 (and no, I didn't know that off the top of my head, haha).

The Canucks beat the San Jose Sharks 3-1 last night thanks to great penalty killing and power play teams. Tonight they face the Los Angeles Kings. Let's hope they can pull off anoth...what? Oh, you meant the Canucks as in Canada's soccer team...d'oh!

I think the Canucks would have issues translating the soccer offsides from the hockey offsides. That and they'd keep trying to play the ball behind the goal
