Australia qualifies for World Cup

And if no-one else gives a toss, I don't care in the slightest.

Socceroos stuff Uruguay

In terms of Australian sporting folklore, tonight goes down as the night when one of our country's longest sporting hoodoos has finally been broken.

I was 12 when we last went to a World Cup Finals, and it has been a long wait. Eight qualifying series' since, and eight last hurdle failures.

I am doing this for a while >>

Thanks Jon You are a little out with the ranking - Canada are 86 (and no, I didn't know that off the top of my head, haha).

I wish the Canucks well in the their future endeavours. One day !

Re: Australia qualifies for World Cup

And this is the guy primarily responsible

Mark Schwarzer, Australia's goalkeeper, saving the second of the 2 penalties he saved during the shootout

Re: Australia qualifies for World Cup

I think the Canucks would have issues translating the soccer offsides from the hockey offsides. That and they'd keep trying to play the ball behind the goal
