But apparently he's good enough to be in the playoffs again

Can't really condone attacking opposing fans, unless they're like drunken White Sox fans.

Not that most people care who aren't from Canada, but the Ducks won last night. The thought of the Anaheim Ducks becoming Stanley Cup champions scares me.

So how long will it be before we see a new Mighty Ducks movie?
It won't happen unless Disney buys the team back. They dropped the "Mighty" after Disney sold the team.

I'm so waiting for the day the NHL just folds up its tent and goes away.
In a way I'm in agreement. I think I'm okay with a team in Southern CA and even Florida or Carolina, but hockey does NOT belong in Texas, Arizona, Atlanta, or fucking Nashville. And the fact that hockey is now broadcast on Versus (formerly OLN, ironic since hockey is played INDOORS professionally) and on a very disinterested NBC network that preempted a Stanley Cup Finals game for the Preakness (WTF) smells of terrible leadership in the league. Not to mention the article I posted above about them thinking of EXPANDING the product to Kansas City (WTF) and Vegas (WTF) instead of to some Canadian or northern US cities like in Minnesota or Washington State is retarded, considering they're LOSING money and viewership because NOBODY can watch the games...hell, I can't even tune into any of the games played this season while Bobo in the UK can watch it in the middle of the night over there. Stupid stupid stupid.
They should disband the league and let the Canadian teams keep playing, keep the four Original Six USA teams and include New Jersey, NYR, NYI, Buffalo and St Louis, and kill the rest of the league because outside of the Midwest and Northeast, nobody really gives a shit about hockey, and that's unfortunate but true. For the betterment of the league, they need to contract and ensure that the sport flourishes in the parts of the country that actually care.

I think the problem is exactly in your entire post - the bulk of the US does not care about Hockey. It's a northern sport. It's not really a U.S. NATIONAL sport. It doesn't draw in viewers (hence the pre-empting) and the loss of an entire SEASON (and you can blame the league and management and the owners for this, but also blame the players. It takes two to tango) turned many away. The fact that you can't tune in games and losing viewership in itself isn't just management. It's also that it's not profitable for stations to air the games because there isn't enough viewers to begin with.

I think there was ample viewership when the games were broadcast on ESPN and ESPN2 where they belonged, and also when the Cup Finals were broadcast on FOX which did a great job. Granted it wasn't as good as the other three major pro sports but it was still a ton better than what they're getting now because the idiot commissioner decided to say "Fuck you ESPN" and went with OLN for whatever reason. He's like the anti-Tagliabue.
