2006 Baseball postseason

Just FYI,

NL:

Mets vs. Dodgers

Cardinals vs. Padres

AL:

Yankees vs. Tigers

Twins vs. A's

Long live baseball.

Re: 2006 Baseball postseason

F#(*$&! Stupid playoffs are all on ESPN it seems...unless they mislabeled it and they're simulcasting on FOX and ESPN. Darn lack of cable

Not that I'd have tons of time to watch anyway, but darn yous, it's the principle!

Crisis averted, they are doing FOX

Jess still can't watch House though and all the Sunday cartoons are off until November

'Twould seem the Detroit Tigers are for real as they represent the AL in the World Series this year.

Re: 2006 Baseball postseason

Tonight the Detroit Tigers host the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 1 of the World Series. This year seems to be a tossup, methinks.

Re: 2006 Baseball postseason

When the Cardinals won it all in 1967 I was too young to remember.....in 1982 I went to a haunted house with my ex wife's sister and 2 brothers and missed them winning.....in 1985 a horrid umpire call in game 6 caused them to meltdown and lose game 7 AND in 1987 they had to play 4 games at the "Hefty" Dome with the white ceiling in Minnesota and lost....but finally tonight they WON it all against Detroit Way To Go World Champion St. Louis Cardinals!!!!!!!!

Don't forget about them being swept by the Red Sox in 2004.

^ Yeah, that was right before the Boston mini-deal with the Devil expired

Re: 2006 Baseball postseason

3-0 actually...only team in MLB history to do that. That was exciting to watch, even if it was resultant from a contract with the Devil

That's right! I forgot. My mind was having an even tougher time that season because I wanted Larry Walker to get a ring and St. Louis to win, but seeing the yanks fall like they did, well, I had to go for the Red Sox.

Re: 2006 Baseball postseason

Deal with the devil or not, I still got to see something my own grandparents never got to see - The Red Sox winning a pennant. And judging by the way they have fallen apart since, we may never see it again. But I'll always pick the Sox over any other team. But I prefer Football much, much more, and look forward to the Pats shutting down Indy this week.
