Re: Nhl 2005-2006

I'm really excited for this season, I think Gretzky coached the debut game very well and should have a lot of wisdom to impart to his players. If I were a betting man, I would give the nod to Ottawa to get to the Cup finals. I don't know who will come up on top in the West, but it looks like Colorado has a good shot again.

Honestly? I think the Avs are toast. I doubt they'll even make the playoffs. I think it's between San Jose, Calgary and Vancouver in the west....Ottawa and Philly in the east....them's my predictions anyway!

Re: Nhl 2005-2006

I am basing this on Aebischer's performance in net for the Avs. If he sucks, then it's over for them, but when he's on his game, I think the Avs have a legitimate shot at going all the way.

Re: Nhl 2005-2006

Yay! The Canucks were able to pull out a win in Minnesota last night after and embarassing lambasting there on Wednesday. I asked for tickets to tomorrow's game vs. Dallas for my birthday but I don't think I'll get them. The games have been SRO for weeks now.

Are you liking the new rules so far? I am for the most part. But I noticed in the Canucks/Wild game on Wednesday that Mick "I'm the worst referee ever" McGeough basically called the game like before and let a lot of clutching and grabbing go on both sides. If they're going to make this "The New NHL" they MUST enforce the new rules emphatically.

Re: Nhl 2005-2006

I unfortunately haven't had the chance to watch a full NHL game. I am disappointed that the Penguins are so lackluster and unlucky and that Wayne Gretzky is having such a tough time getting started in Phoenix...it doesn't help that Brett Hull decided he finally sucks and retired just now.

Re: Nhl 2005-2006

Yes, I think my Avs will go the way of thier starting goalie. I also like that the judge here in Colorado gave some slack to Steve Moore (Even though she dismissed his case) because she thinks he has a better chance to win his case in Canada. The whole thing sucks and I wish it had never happened..but it did, he was assaulted and can no longer play

She actually dismissed his case because it has no bearing in a Colorado court as the attack happened in Canada and he lives in Canada as do the accused. Maybe that does give him a better chance to win, I don't know. It totally sucks that it happened. It has put a black mark on hockey that will never go away.

That being said, I can't wait for Saturday's game!!

It's ridiculous to say the least...but anyway, you guys played great and deserved the win. If we continue to play the way we have been then I think you can bring out a broom

Re: Nhl 2005-2006

The Penguins got the best of the new collective bargaining agreement and salary capping etc. They have superstar Mario Lemieux and phenom Sidney Crosby. They have all kinds of other stars and solid players on the roster.

So why are they like 0-729? It's maddening.
