NBA 2006-07....The Rules Have Changed!
FINALLY, the NBA is going to crack down on the whining AND they've decided to enforce "carrying the ball" instead of calling it a wicked "crossover".....BTW, Denver finally won it's 1st game of the year yesterday at philly, 108-101.

Re: NBA 2006-07....The Rules Have Changed!
Carmello drew a 15 game suspension for his part in that brawl with the Knicks. I think 10 games would've been plenty. Oh well, we need to try and win without him for a while.

Re: NBA 2006-07....The Rules Have Changed!
Did anyone else catch his crap about the brawl? First he says Carmelo should've gotten at least 20 games and THEN he says George Karl had it in for Isiah because of the whole Larry Brown thing. As they said in the Denver Post today, anyone who believes that must still be looking for Ron and Nicole's killer!

Now we have Allen Iverson. We'll have to see just how good/bad Denver becomes once Melo comes back.

*snicker* So true.
I think the last spot to be determined is the 8th in the West...I doubt the Warriors will beat Dallas but they might be able to beat Portland, no clue who the Clippers are playing.

Re: NBA 2006-07....The Rules Have Changed!
Somewhere in the midst, the NBA Draft happened.
I like this one:
Even more shocking, it looks like Joakim Noah abandoned his ponytail, slapped on a bow tie and hired Carrot Top's hair stylist. Let's hope he doesn't drop into the second round because of this.
...and this:
Yi's interpreter-less interview with Stu Scott wins the ESPY for "Best impersonation of Andre the Giant by a Chinese guy" and "Biggest lock to be turned into a YouTube clip by at least 500 different people." Although you have to admire him for doing it. I'm starting to come around on Yi -- the thought of him shovelling out his car in minus-10 degree weather in January while fighting back tears and screaming, "Why????? Why?????" in Chinese is delightful for some reason. Too bad they'll trade him. If the Chinese government can torture Jack Bauer for two years, they can definitely break the Bucks.

Re: NBA 2006-07....The Rules Have Changed!
I just like this exchange for some reason...
Mike (Boston): Bassy Telfair's "dedicated the entire summer to basketball". I can't figure out if this makes me happy because he might start to hint at his potential or full of rage over the fact that Ainge traded for a point guard who needs to be arrested and almost released to think working on his game in the off-season might be a good idea.
Bill Simmons: I love when players say this. Seriously, you have to love the NBA - it's the only league where someone can say, "Hey, I spent the summer working on the job that you're paying me to do" and everyone else is like, "Wow, that's great news!"
