Has anyone considered using the vBRadio link at top? I didn't even think of that till just now. Aside from that, a few tweaks I tried are listed here. They HAVE helped some. Think next week though I'll listen via vBRadio
Re: For those with Memory issues during chat/shows
Well I also made an installer/configuration file for a program called XMPlay. click the link to download it, once installed, the configuration file is set to make it automatically load the Renegade Retro Stream....all one has to do is press the Play button.
So far it sounds comparable to the Winamp MP3pro stream but without the memory usage, (pretty small file at around 430 KB, not a lot of bells & whistles but does the job. Not taking away from Winamp or anything, just giving listeners an alternative so they can hear the broadcast without locking up their computers.)

Re: For those with Memory issues during chat/shows
Forgot to Add that XMplay HAS MP3Pro Capabilities...If you've Installed Winamp AND the MP3Pro Codec, it will read Winamp's MP3Pro Codec. Here's how to get it to work:
in the Upper corner of the XMPLay screen, click the Wrench
Click "Plugins & Skins"
Scroll down the list to Winamp: THOMSON mp3PRO Decoder
Click CONFIG button
In the General Tab, make sure the following boxes are checked:
Enable (use mp3PRO Decoder for all .mp3 files)
Enable Enhancement (Will be turned on at startup)
Set Decoder CPU Priority to your preference (I keep mine midrange)
The remaining checkboxes are optional
(You can Leave the Streaming Tab as is)
Click OK
You will need to restart XMplay for the settings to go into effect.
Re: For those with Memory issues during chat/shows
I Found the solution to the chat problem! Turns out Vamp was right. I uninstalled Flash 9, and replaced it with Flash 7. Chat's working great!
Locating the Flash 7 installer takes a bit of Searching. I'll put together a Site to download the installers after work tonight, I'll also update this thread with the link!
If your CPU is UNDER 450MHz, you need to Ditch Flash 9 and Flash 8, go with Flash 7. For those between 450MHz and 1 GHz, flash 7 may also help reduce your System Resource usage!
Re: For those with Memory issues during chat/shows
Found the fix for the chat problem. Vamp was right...Flash player 9 was the culprit. System requirements for Flash 8 & 9 are virtually the same, so I downgraded to Flash 7. Chat works GREAT!
Locating Flash 7 is a challenge. So I kept the files and uploaded them to my personal server.
Here's the link: http://home.comcast.net/~b_dobson/flash/
Step One, Download and run the Uninstaller to remove your current version of Flash (Browser must be closed to run)
Once done, open your browser, come back to that link and download/run the installer for your Browser!

Youtube works fine with Flash 7.
Ummm...I don't know where you got the "MOST SITES REQUIRE FLASH 9", but that is not at all true! I've only experienced the problem with Myspace videos (Not youtube embedded ones). Frankly most Myspace vids suck anyway! Choice is yours though.
